Francis Antonie

FrancisFrancis Antonie is the director of the Helen Suzman Foundation. He is a graduate of Wits, Leicester and Exeter Universities. He was awarded the Helen Suzman Chevening Fellowship by the UK Foreign Office in 1994. From 1996 to 2006 he was senior economist at Standard Bank; thereafter he was director of the Graduate School of Public Development and Management at Wits University. He is the founding managing director of Strauss & Co.

Timothy Kenny

Tim.JPGTimothy Kenny is a researcher at the Helen Suzman Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from Dublin City University. His areas of interest lie in institutional governance and South Africa’s regional impacts and influences.

Rachel Browne

RachelRachel Browne is a researcher at the Foundation. She graduated from the Wits School of Public and Development Management with a masters in management and worked in the public service and at Unisa before joining the HSF. Interests include knowledge development and dissemination, community building and development economics. She has been a trader of African craft and clothing, and a cultural and media worker.

RobRob Hewitt is general manager of the Foundation. He is a Chartered Accountant and joined the HSF after retirement having held senior financial management positions in the Barlows Group, Foster Wheeler and Independent Newspapers.
